20Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent:21Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.22But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you.23And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.24But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.

31Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.32And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.33They answered Him, We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can you say, `You will be made free'?34Jesus answered them, Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.35And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.36Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.37I know that you are Abraham's descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.38I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.39They answered and said to Him, Abraham is our father. Jesus said to them, If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham.
